DANDENONG businesses and the local council are lending support to Queensland Flood victims.
The City of Greater Dandenong has already pledged $5000 and City of Greater Dandenong mayor Roz Blades also joined the Victorian Federation of Chinese Organisations from Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos and the Salvation Army in a joint fundraising effort in Springvale last weekend.
Cr Blades said it was important that communities around Australia lent a helping hand to provide some sort of relief to the people of Queensland.
“It is very important that our friends and colleagues in Queensland know they have our full support,” she said.
“The severity of the flooding in Queensland has left a number of people homeless and without an income.
“This is our small way of letting the residents of Queensland know that we are here for them during this extremely difficult and trying time.”
