Broadband boost

A CLAYTON company has secured a highly-coveted broadband contract worth up to $1.2 billion over the next five years.
Optical fibre and hardware manufacturer Corning Cable Systems Australia was one of three companies announced by NBN Co to deliver the NBN’s technical equipment needs. The deal’s worth up to $1.2 billion over five years, with an initial investment of $400 million.
State Manufacturing, Exports and Trade Minister Richard Dalla-Riva has congratulated the company.
“As a result of this investment, Corning Cable Systems Australia will create up to 400 new jobs and invest $25 million into its Clayton facility,” Mr Dalla-Riva said.
