McCartney makes his mark

By JARROD POTTER

DANDENONG Stingray Clay McCartney put on the first master class of the AFL under 18 national championships, booting six goals to register a 111-point win over Northern Territory.
McCartney was unstoppable up forward to put his hand up early for AFL draft contention.
Also featuring prominently in the win were Stingrays-listed players Josh Pickess and James Harmes. Vic Country’s next challenge is against Tasmania at Visy Park on Sunday 9 June from noon.
McCartney’s cousin Jay Kennedy-Harris was equally as impressive in Vic Metro’s 40-point win over Queensland – with the Oakleigh Chargers captain, who lives in Endeavour Hills, kicking a goal.
