After market masters

KEYSBOROUGH’S TriMas Corporation was named a finalist for this year’s Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Large Manufacturer of the Year award.
In May 2008 it was inducted into the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame and highlighted as a role model for other manufacturers.
TriMas manufactures and supplies automotive accessories, including tow bars and roof racks, to the transport industry.
Embracing the idea of a global economy has helped the company to succeed locally. It’s focused on design and value-adding rather than competing with cheap labour from places like China.
Keeping its research and design in Dandenong has also been a focus, and last September TriMas received $250,000 from the State Government’s Investing in Manufacturing Technology (IMT) program to buy and install robotic welding cells.
