Intruder hits elderly woman

Police are searching for this man.

A BURGLAR slapped an 81-year-old woman in the face before ransacking her Keysborough home.
Greater Dandenong CIU detectives are appealing for help to solve the crime which occurred in Kingsclere Avenue about 1.30pm on Saturday 14 May.
The elderly woman was home alone when she heard a knock at her door and went to investigate.
She found no one there but unlocked the door as she thought her husband had returned from an errand and was retrieving something from the car.
A man entered the house a short time later and found the woman in her bedroom, slapped her on the face, told her not to move and ransacked the room.
The victim’s 85-year-old husband returned home and received the same warning from the burglar, who continued to search the house.
Investigators have been told that he left with cash and jewellery.
He is perceived to be Islander in appearance, aged in his 30s and about 180 centimetres tall with a solid build and thick, dark-collar length hair.
He was wearing a T-shirt with a vest over the top and light-coloured cargo-style pants.
The man was seen getting into a dark-coloured vehicle.
Police have released a computer-generated image of a man they believe could assist with their inquiries.
