Japanese students and their Noble Park ‘sisters’ made a cultural exchange during a week-long visit.
Noble Park Secondary College welcomed 10 students and three staff from Shinminato Senior High School from Sunday 30 July.
They took part in school activities, travelled to Queenscliff and spent a day riding Puffing Billy.
The Japanese visitors also heard from former Noble Park student Anne De Kretser, who now directs the Monash University Centre for Japanese Learning and Education.
On Friday 4 August they performed in a multicultural concert alongside their new Noble Park classmates.
Another former student, Mark Cubit, visited Japan on a Rotary scholarship and helped to establish the sister school relationship upon his return. That was more than 20 years ago.
The school hopes to send students to Japan next year.
