Flames sneak in

Firefighters at the scene.

A smouldering cardboard delivery started a fire in a Springvale factory, says a firefighter.
Fire crews were called to Visy Industries on Princes Highway about 9.30am on Monday 18 December.
Up to 15 CFA and MFB firefighting appliances attended the scene, and the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) was monitoring conditions.
Dandenong Fire Brigade regional commander Paul Carrigg told the Journal that fire crews would likely be at the scene for about eight hours in total.
He said the fire arrived in a load of cardboard dumped at the recycling facility that morning.
It spread and engulfed between 20 and 30 tonnes of cardboard.
He said firefighters pulled it out of the factory and wet it down.
The CFA initially advised people to avoid the Princes Highway area and to be aware of smoke in Mulgrave, Noble Park, Noble Park North and Springvale areas.
The Journal contacted Visy for comment.
