Thief strikes twice

A CCTV still from the Noble Park car park.

Police say thieves switched a stolen car’s number plates in Noble Park.
Kingston CIU investigators appealed for witnesses following a burglary and car theft from a home in Rayhur Street, Clayton South.
They said a woman broke into the address between 8.40am and 3.40pm on Monday 12 March and stole computer equipment, jewellery and keys to the victim’s vehicle.
Officers allege she returned the next day and stole the victim’s grey 2017 Land Rover four-wheel drive.
The victim saw the thieves drive away in the vehicle about 6.30pm and confronted the driver, who collided with a neighbour’s air conditioning unit before driving away.
Police on Tuesday 20 March released images of the stolen car in the hopes someone might have seen it, and an image of a woman they believe might be able to assist with their inquiries.
They also released CCTV images from an underground car park in Noble Park that show a man and woman getting out of the stolen car on Tuesday 13 March before removing the vehicle’s registration plates.
