St Kilda Football Club announced a new community partnership with Dandenong-based Wallara Australia.
The organisation provides services, accommodation, training and work experience to people living with a disability in the South-East.
At Wallara’s annual Dinner Under the Stars, Saints CEO Matt Finnis said the partnership “will see an array of programs and opportunities made available through the club”.
“Wallara TV have already come on board to support our wheelchair football team and we look forward to integrating the talents of other Wallara clients across our business into the future,” he said.
Wallara CEO Phil Hayes-Brown said St Kilda had indicated several avenues for clients to further their skills and training at the club “and we can’t wait to begin this process”.
Saints players visited several Wallara sites during this year’s Community Camp, honing their pottery, baking and barista skills alongside Wallara clients.
The extended St Kilda leadership team spent two days at Sages Cottage in Baxter in late 2017 as part of a leadership development program.
