VOLUNTEERS will be working hard at Greater Dandenong Clean Up Australia Day events this Sunday to get the area spick and span.
In 1989 Ian Kiernan had a simple idea to make a difference in his own backyard, Sydney Harbour.
With help from co-founder Kim McKay, Clean Up Australia Day is now the nation’s largest community-based environmental event.
On Sunday 3 March there’ll be more than eight clean up events in Greater Dandenong. Anyone who wants to help can visit www.cleanupaustraliaday.org.au to volunteer at a site or set up an event. Those who can’t make it on the day are encouraged to donate to Clean Up Australia, to fund education programs and help Aussies clean up.
