YOUNGSTERS Christopher and Jack were barking up the right tree
when they and fellow Silverton Primary School students planted 250 trees
in their schoolyard last Friday.

In a campaign to improve the
environment and air quality, thousands of students across Australia
joined Planet Ark’s Schools Tree Day by planting native trees and shrubs
within their school grounds.

The Silverton Primary students were helped
by Matt Cooper, of Patterson Cheney Toyota, who took on supportive
wheelbarrow duties around the schoolyard.

At Sunday’s official
National Tree Day, volunteers worked throughout Greater Dandenong,
including at Fotheringham Reserve, Dandenong, and Pencil Park,
Keysborough.
