Decade-long lease

By CASEY NEILL

THE State Government has signed a 10-year lease at a new Dandenong office.
About 150 workers will move into the 2450 square metre space at 1-9 Dandenong Street mid-year.
CBRE’s Richard Height negotiated the lease on behalf of Open Corporation Funds Management and said construction on the three-level building was due to finish in May.
He said the State Government intended to start fitting out the space – 85 per cent of the building – in the next month or so, but could not confirm which department would be moving in.
Mr Height said the building’s sustainability focus was a key factor behind the lease.
“The Victorian Government required office accommodation that would achieve a Green Star rating of 3 to 5 once built, a NABERS rating of 4.5 stars and minimum water rating of 4 stars,” he said.
“This Dandenong premises fits the tenant’s geographical requirements, as well as its sustainability pre-requisites.”
About 350 square metres on the top floor is still available for lease.
