Hit-run leaves woman critical

By Casey Neill

A HIT-RUN in Dandenong left a 37-year-old woman in a critical condition.
Detectives appealed for public help following the incident, which occurred at Alsace Street and Alexander Avenue about 10pm on Tuesday 25 October.
Police said a white Toyota HiAce van and a Toyota Camry were parked near the intersection at the same time the victim was involved in a disagreement with two men out on the street.
The men returned to the van and drove off but hit the woman in the process, police allege, and did not stop.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the woman had serious head, chest and pelvic injuries.
Paramedics treated the woman and initially took her to Dandenong Hospital.
She was later transferred by road to The Alfred hospital in a critical condition.
Police appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or with any further information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
