Trains will soon arrive at Dandenong Railway Station every 10 minutes.

Public Transport Minister Jacinta Allan announced the move at the station on Friday 27 April.

She said turn-up-and-go services every 10 minutes would be extended between Dandenong and the city line from 7pm to 10pm once every level crossing between Caulfield and Dandenong was removed.

Ms Allan said a major construction blitz from 29 May to 17 June would complete that task.

During the blitz, buses will replace trains on sections of the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines.

While at Dandenong, Ms Allan also announced $572 million in the 2018-’19 State Budget for power upgrades and modern signalling from the city to Cranbourne and Pakenham.

She said this work would pave the way for the Cranbourne line duplication.
