A driver drink-driving at more than twice the legal limit was caught in a daytime police operation near Burden Park, Springvale on Wednesday 20 February.

The 37-year-old Springvale woman had her vehicle impounded after recording a blood-alcohol reading of 0.128.

She was the first driver intercepted during the operation, according to Springvale police.

She was charged with drink-driving and speeding offences.

Police also used Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology to help detect eight unregistered vehicles and four suspended drivers.

One of the suspended drivers allegedly tried to evade the breath-testing site, police say.

They also caught four speeding motorists, a driver with a four-year-old passenger not in a car seat, and an L-plate driver who did not display L plates and was unaccompanied by an experienced driver.
