SFL chief resigns

SOUTHERN Football League chief executive officer Wayne Holdsworth has resigned.

A statement from the league today said the SFL board had accepted Mr Holdsworth’s resignation with regret and would install a replacement ‘‘as soon as possible’’.

‘‘Wayne has been a faithful servant and exemplary role model for our organisation for the last six seasons.’’

SFL board chairman Mark Seymour said in the statement: ‘‘We have seen many positive initiatives brought to fruition during Wayne’s tenure and we wish him every success in his future endeavours.’’

Mr Holdsworth will finish at the SFL on July 5.
