RACV helps Afghan refugees get driver's licences

The RACV has donated $20,000 to Youth Links Dandenong to help young people, predominantly Afghan refugees, study for their learner’s permit and probationary licence. RACV executive general manager membership services, Susan Allen, pictured with Youth Links participants Murtaza Barat and Rohullah Sohrab Ali, said the RACV was impressed with the organisation’s support of young disadvantaged people “RACV’s grant will be used to purchase computers to facilitate online driver learning and visual aids to overcome language barriers, allowing this valuable program to continue,” she said. “RACV understands mobility is crucial in enabling young people to fully participate in society, and helping adolescent asylum seekers learn to drive will improve their education and employment opportunities.” For more information, call Youth Links on 9547 0511.
