Manufacturers forge ties with Indian counterparts

A DELEGATION of manufacturers from India visited Greater Dandenong this week to foster relationships with the city’s business networking and advocacy groups.
The South East Melbourne Manufacturers’ Alliance (SEMMA) hosted a select number of a larger delegation of manufacturers who were in Melbourne and being hosted by the Indo-Australian Chamber of Commerce.
SEMMA held a presentation on Tuesday at its Thomas Street office to show the Indian delegation what Greater Dandenong’s business networking groups, including South East Networks, were all about.
The event was open to manufacturers and other businesses interested in a trade relationship with India, and SEMMA arranged for a representative from a major trade promotion company to be present and help facilitate business relationships.
Indian manufacturers present included the Bharat Box Factory, a maker of paper and plastic products for food, agricultural and healthcare industries; Auto Shell Casts, a maker of shell-moulded, sand-machined steel and alloy steel castings; and Multivista Global, a state-of-the-art shoe factory that produces 1200 pairs of men’s leather shoes and sandals each day.
