Police nab muggers

By CAM LUCADOU-WELLS

QUICK actions from Dandenong and Springvale police have led to the chase-down and arrest of six mugging suspects.
Detective Senior Constable Kane Taylor, of Greater Dandenong CIU, said Dandenong police officers arrested three teenagers after a lengthy foot chase through Dandenong Plaza car park on 27 July just after 4pm.
The officers had spotted the trio and an unknown fourth person allegedly assaulting and attempting to rob a 15-year-old boy on Cleeland Street.
A 16-year-old Frankston boy, a 15-year-old Dandenong South girl and an 18-year-old Doveton man were arrested.
On 26 July, a 15-year-old boy was allegedly assaulted and robbed of his mobile phone outside Springvale Rise Primary School on Springvale Road about 6pm.
He reported the incident to Springvale police, who within minutes tracked down and charged three males in the vicinity.
Two 17-year-old boys face theft charges in Melbourne Children’s Court on 22 September.
A 19-year-old man will appear on similar charges in Dandenong Magistrates Court on 10 November.
Any information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
