Transit CIU is investigating an assault on Melbourne Cup Day at 12.01 when a 49-year-old man was walking through a concourse to the Dandenong Train Station platform when two Sudanese men punched and kicked him to the head, causing serious injury.
Another Sudanese man intervened, and offered assistance. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
