A 97-YEAR-OLD Noble Park woman died in a head-on collision in Monbulk on Sunday afternoon.
Two Endeavour Hills people were among the six others injured in the crash at 4pm on Monbulk Road.
Belgrave police Sergeant Michael Stuebner said a sedan was travelling north when the driver failed to take a slight bend and veered into the path of an oncoming four-wheel drive.
The Noble Park woman was a rear passenger in the sedan and died at the scene.
The 71-year-old male driver and a second passenger, a 69-year-old woman, both from Endeavour Hills, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A 49-year-old man, who was driving the four-wheel drive, and a two-year-old boy, both from Emerald, were taken to Maroondah Hospital with minor injuries.
An 11-year-old Emerald boy was airlifted to the Royal Children’s Hospital with serious injuries and is in a stable condition. A 39-year-old woman, also from Emerald, was airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries.
