RAIN played havoc with round 13 of the Victorian Premier League cricket season, with all 18 teams taking two points each.
Eight of the nine scheduled games managed to get underway, but when the heavens opened again during the afternoon, play was abandoned and draws declared.
However the Dandenong Panthers was one team not complaining about being washed away.
After winning the toss and batting on a less than perfect wicket, Dandenong lost its first three wickets for 20 runs.
The going got worse when Warren Ayres was removed for 7 and when David Newman lost his wicket on 11, the Panthers looked towards the sky.
At 5/61, Dandenong had its prayers answered when sheeting rain fell began falling on Shepley Oval and forced players and officials from the field.
This Saturday, Dandenong takes on Richmond in the first final of the one-day program.
