POLICE have arrested and released a man while they investigate claims that a Springvale restaurant owner was threatened with a meat cleaver and sword.
Police said the man went to the restaurant in Springvale Road about 6.20pm on Tuesday and entered through a rear entrance.
They say he then threatened the 39-year-old restaurant owner with the weapons.
A customer called police who went to the restaurant and arrested a 20-year old man without incident.
Police recovered the weapons and the man was questioned in relation to aggravated burglary.
He was later released while investigations into the incident continue.
There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
