THE BOSS of Dandenong’s National Australia Bank has thanked the business and residential community, as the bank celebrates 150 years.
Regional manager Nesan Naidoo said the bank would celebrate its 150th birthday on 4 October.
“NAB’s business was forged in the goldfields and alongside farmers in small towns during the mid-1800s, so our staff have always played a crucial key role serving their local communities,” he said.
“I know that our team in the Dandenong region continues that tradition, striving to deliver the best service possible to our customers in Dandenong, Berwick and Pakenham.
“It’s a rare opportunity for staff and customers of an Australian business to be able to celebrate their company’s 150th anniversary.”
The National Bank of Australasia opened its doors in Melbourne on 4 October 1858 with £90,000 in capital.
In 1981 the National Australia Bank was formed by an amalgamation of the National Bank of Australasia and the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney.
