CHAMPION Compressors unveiled its new national headquarters and manufacturing facility on Frankston Road last Thursday.
The Dandenong-based company, which specialises in compressed air solutions, also celebrated 40 years of business.
Suppliers, distributors, customers, industry partners, employees and their families attended the opening ceremony to celebrate the new facility.
The new facility has three times the manufacturing capabilities of the previous one, three times the space for sales and technical support offices, and four times its loading and parking facilities.
Following the official opening presentation, attendees were invited to tour the new facility.
Champion Compressor technical experts provided guests with information about the current and future directions of Champion’s air compressor solution-set.
Victorian Minister for Industry and Trade Martin Pakula attended the event and congratulated the company’s management on the new facility and Champion Compressors’ achievements over forty years.
“This new investment is a vote of confidence in the future of manufacturing in Victoria and represents another milestone in the extraordinary growth of this innovative company,” he said.
“It is a great example for other Victorian manufacturers that a business can prosper and succeed during these global economic conditions.”
Managing director Wayne St Baker said he had seen the business evolve from a small service provider to a national market leader, and was also confident the business would continue to evolve and succeed during the current economic crisis.
“Opening this facility marks a new manufacturing era for Champion. We keep changing to suit the times and I am confident in where the business is going, and confident we will emerge strong during these difficult economic times,” he said.
