POLICE have charged three people, arrested on Monday, over the death in Dandenong North of a 17-year-old international student who was struck by a car last week and later died in hospital.
Samuel Hsiung died in The Alfred hospital after his parents agreed to switch off his life support last week.
The Nazareth College schoolboy was hit about 11.30am on 9 May when a black Toyota Corolla mounted the kerb, hit him and then sped off.
Samuel was left lying in an Outlook Drive bus shelter with horrific injuries.
Major Collision Investigation Unit officers arrested a 25-year-old man from Endeavour Hills and a 33-year-old man, of no fixed address, in Maidstone about 3.30pm.
A 24-year-old woman from Dandenong was arrested about 4.10pm in Footscray.
Police also seized a vehicle from a Maidstone panel shop.
Kim Nguyen, 24, of Dandenong North, was charged with failing to stop after an accident and failing to render assistance.
Thanh Truong, 33, and Ioan Dumitru, 25, were charged with aiding a serious indictable offence.
All three were remanded in custody to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
