Making money is the key

RETAIL stores are not banks. They need to make money, not save money.
And in these difficult economic times, it is important that retailers continue driving their business, creating value for customers and using people resources wisely.
That’s the message from Deborah Peppard, an accredited HR coach who helps businesses with their people management.
As a retail veteran of more than 20 years’ experience in small and big retail businesses, she will be guest speaker at the June general meeting of the Dandenong Retail Traders Association.
The meeting on Tuesday 2 June will be at the Ramada Encore Hotel, 50 McCrae Street, Dandenong, starting at 6pm.
Ms Peppard will provide some low-cost, effective ideas to maximise profitability through people and promotion.
“Those who attended Deborah Peppard’s training session last year know what an exciting and stimulating speaker she is, so retailers should make the effort to attend,” said Roy Aspinall, chairman of the Dandenong Retail Traders Association.
“Attendance at the general meetings is a wonderful opportunity to network with fellow Central Dandenong retailers,” he said.
