Residents to be interviewed by murder police

POLICE began doorknocking homes in Doveton and Springvale South on Friday for information on the unsolved murder of teenager Cayleb Hough.
The remains of the 17-year-old from Chelsea Heights were found in a shallow mineshaft in Lererderg State Park, Bacchus Marsh, on 10 Marsh.
Missing Persons Squad investigators are seeking public information on a pair of runners and a mobile phone that may be significant to the case.
They believe the pair of black Adidas high tops and Samsung mobile phone were discarded from a taxi between Harold, Springvale, Patterson and Darren roads, Springvale South, on Monday 21 December 2015 between 10-11.30pm.
Police believe the items were found by a member of the public who were unaware of the items’ significance.
Investigators will also be showing residents in Doveton a picture of Cayleb and the vehicle he was last seen in – a blue 2003 Ford Falcon XR6 sedan with registration SOG 812.
Any information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestoppersvic.vic.gov.au.
