Police lock down Springvale South streets

Police locked down parts of Springvale South last Thursday as they hunted a man wanted in relation to an aggravated burglary.

The cordon blocked Olympic Avenue, Wardale Road, Levin Street, Bellview Court, Woodstock Place and Belinda Court for several hours before being called off just before 5pm.

Police were searching for a man after an aggravated burglary in Catherine Court, Langwarrin, at 9.20am. He fled in a blue Mazda.

A police helicopter spotted the car on Princes Highway and the occupants went to ground in Springvale South about 1.30pm. T

he police canine squad and airwing searched the area but failed to find the man.

Police described the offender as aged 20-30, 175 centimetres, of thin build and with dark hair. He was wearing a dark blue jumper.
