MITCH Brice is investing a lot of heart into Pulse, Dandenong’s newest nightclub, and he believes it will be the entertainment gem of Melbourne’s south-east.
The venue is currently being fitted out and is just weeks away from opening.
Mr Brice, the club’s managing director, said he has more than 25 years of hospitality experience and was aiming to turn the venue into Dandenong’s night-life hub.
Mr Brice said the 600-person-capacity nightclub would hopefully attract international bands, bus large groups of regular clubbers to and from the venue for free, and feature several different bars.
Located where the former Liquid nightclub used to stand along Walker and Thomas streets, Mr Brice said he was determined to make the venue a safe and comfortable experience.
“It will be a totally non-smoking venue from the word go,” he said.
“We will have some expensive furnishings in here, so we don’t want those to be ruined.”
He said the club would have a state-of-the-art security system linked to police databases to identify serial troublemakers and ensure club-goers were safe at all times.
“It is nice to know your patrons are safe,” he said.
“We will have a courtesy bus, and once we own the bus we will ask local businesses to sponsor it.”
Mr Brice said free soft drinks would be provided for designated drivers to encourage safe-driving habits.
He said Pulse would be open seven days a week from early morning to 3am, and by day it would be a family bistro with a VIP area targeting central Dandenong’s corporate population.
Mr Brice said Pulse was on track to open within the next four weeks, and was awaiting the final word on a series of council permits and liquor licences.
