THE Dandenong Rangers under 14 boys’ team has qualified for the national titles in the Barossa Valley in October.
The team, which is playing in the Victorian Championship league this season, is undefeated and has already taken to the court against tough competition.
In winning the recent Champions of Champions tournament, the Rangers beat top club teams from Western Australia, South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland in a dress rehearsal for the national titles.
Captained by Lachlan Parker from Berwick, the team is made up by a number of Casey juniors.
Tyler Williams and Michael Tomich are from Narre Warren while Anthony Drmic and Jackson McDonald represent Endeavour Hills.
Coach Chris Davies, from Hallam, coached five of the boys in the side last year, when they brought home gold for Victoria at the State Primary Schools Championships.
The team is trying to raise $20,000 to cover costs of airfares, accommodation and uniforms.
