CARRUM United Soccer Club seniors needed a win against Rowville Eagles to give themselves a chance to avoid relegation, however Rowville won 5-2.
Mathematically it is still possible for Carrum to avoid the drop from Football Federation Victoria’s Provisional League One South East, however the team would have to win its remaining four games and need other results to go its way.
However, it’s looking highly likely Carrum will be playing in Provisional League Two next year.
Carrum players John Sciarrone and Fil Cordoma were sent off in two separate incidents during the game against Rowville, placing additional pressure on the squad for the coming weeks.
On a positive note, Carrum’s reserves beat Rowville 1-0.
This week Carrum travels to Ross Reserve to play third-placed Springvale City.
