A SPRINGVALE man is facing charges over the sexual assault of a nine-year-old girl.
Mohammad Sehnawaz Khan, 22, appeared in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday facing charges of abduction, false imprisonment, three counts of indecent assault and three counts of indecent acts in the presence of a child under 16.
Police from the sexual crimes squad arrested Khan at a shopping centre in Clayton on 17 March.
They had been investigating the sexual assault of a nine-year-old girl at Chadstone Shopping Centre on 14 March.
Khan faced the court yesterday and has been remanded in custody until a committal hearing on 8 June at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.
