Springvale woman indecently assaulted in car

A SPRINGVALE woman was “horrified” when a shirtless man jumped into her car and indecently assaulted her while she was stopped in traffic last week.

Vanessa, 39, was stopped at the intersection of Simpson Street and
Heatherton Road, Noble Park, at 7pm on Wednesday, July 3, when a man
opened her front passenger door and got into the car. She said he
indecently assaulted her and grabbed her around the neck, causing minor
scratches.

Vanessa said she first saw the man in her rear-view mirror, frantically waving his arms.

“He leapt into my vehicle yelling ‘go, go, go’, so I’ve assumed he needed some form of help,” she said.

“I do believe if I had been younger and a bit more inexperienced, he would have succeeded in raping and perhaps killing me.

“I have a son around the same age so it’s incredibly distressing.”

Vanessa said she turned left into Heatherton Road then scared the man off by screaming and leaning on the horn.

“He very calmly got out of my car and disappeared into the night,” she said.

Vanessa reported the incident to Dandenong police the next day. Witnesses also contacted police.

Police said the man was described as aged 17 to 21, of Pacific
Islander appearance with a solid, muscular build, brown eyes and spiky,
black hair. He had clear skin and good teeth. He wore black jeans but no
shirt or shoes.
