$1.3m in cannabis seized from Noble Park, Springvale and Springvale South

By CAMERON LUCADOU-WELLS

CANNABIS worth more than $1.3 million was seized by police from houses in Noble Park, Springvale and Springvale South last week.

Greater Dandenong tasking unit police seized 327 plants growing hydroponically in eight rooms in a Noble Park house last Tuesday afternoon.

The Buckley Street house had no occupants.

Police estimate the plants have a wholesale value of more than $1 million. The crop’s street value would be much more.

Police also seized $30,000 of cultivation equipment.

No one has been arrested in relation to the raid.

Last Wednesday afternoon, the tasking unit seized 182 hydroponic cannabis plants from a house in Springfield Avenue, Springvale South.

The plants had a wholesale value of about $300,000. About $15,000 of equipment was also seized.

A man was charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of cannabis, trafficking, possession and theft of electricity.

That night, officers also seized a ‘‘small amount’’ of cannabis from a house in Westall Road, Springvale.
