‘More to life than footy’

LYNDALE Football Club coach Paul Wilson called it quits on Monday after just half a season at the helm.
Wilson cited work and family reasons behind his decision to leave the Division Two Southern Football League team.
“I spend two nights a week at training and all day Saturday at the club,” he said.
“It’s all too time consuming. I have two kids … there’s more to life than footy.”
Wilson said although the timing of his departure was less than ideal he felt it was time to go.
“Obviously you don’t like it being mid-season, but it is what it is,” he said.
Wilson joined the Pumas at the start of the season and has spent five years in the coaching caper.
Although he didn’t rule out coaching again, Wilson said he was unlikely to do so in the near future.
The club has named player Matthew Caples as the team’s new coach.
