POLICE are appealing for information after a suspicious fire gutted a home in Birdwood Avenue, Dandenong.
CFA crews were called to the blaze about 11pm on 17 January and found the house “well and truly alight”, Greater Dandenong CIU Acting Detective Sergeant Luke Kirton said.
They extinguished the flames but the home was gutted.
Investigators attended the scene with an arson chemist and deemed the fire’s cause to be suspicious.
Act Sgt Kirton said the house was unoccupied but there was evidence that squatters were using it.
Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 with any information.
