COMMUNITY groups in Greater Dandenong have helped raise more than $1200 for a Country Women’s Association (CWA) project aiding farmers in drought and flood stricken areas of rural Victoria.
Keysborough Senior Citizens, an over-60s club at the Dandenong Club, and Noble Park-Keysborough Lions Club have all pitched in funds in the past month to aid Noble Park CWA’s Pamper Pack project.
The packages include toiletries that farmers and their partners may forgo when money is tight such as talcum powder, shampoo, toilet paper, hand creams, sunscreen and other personal products.
Noble Park CWA volunteer Yvonne Smith said the Noble Park-Keysborough Lions Club had donated $1000 to the cause while both Keysborough Senior Citizens and the Dandenong Club over-60s had taken gold coin donations from members to raise $251.
To support local CWA branches including Dandenong and Noble Park, head to the Dandenong Show this weekend at Greaves Reserve, Bennet Street, Dandenong.
