Sudanese seek model citizens

A FASHION show featuring Sudanese women is calling for entrants from Greater Dandenong.
The Miss South Sudan Beauty Pageant will be held at the Robert Blackwood Hall at Monash University, Clayton, at 2.30pm on 2 February.
The pageant is a co-organised by the New Sudan Youth Association of Australia and Big 3, an event production group made up of Sudanese youths.
This year, the Springvale Community Aid and Advice Bureau is supporting the event via its Youth Links team.
The Youth Links team this week released a media statement promoting the pageant and calling for entrants.
“The event will include Sudanese young people from various states, performances, music and guest appearances by models including Congolese model Yemma Christine,” it said.
“All contestants will be involved in a professional photo-shoot and have the chance to showcase their individuality to many modelling agencies in attendance.
“The event aims at creating pathways for Sudanese young women into the modelling industry while empowering them towards greater self-confidence and achievements.
“It is an opportunity to celebrate as a community the aspirations of young people and their leadership.”
