Program for apprentices

By Shaun Inguanzo
DANDENONG employers will be able to find willing apprentices more easily thanks to a new apprenticeship program that has come to the region.
MEGT Group Training is coming to Greater Dandenong after the program’s success in Ringwood.
MEGT Group Training business development manager Lisa Veale said the program aimed to link willing young people with employers in need of apprentices or trainees.
Core industries that Ms Veale is hoping to target in Greater Dandenong include retail, administration and manufacturing.
The recruitment process is free, she said, and employers or young people need only to call her to find out more information.
Ms Veale said MEGT Group Training employed the apprentices or trainees and covered wages, training, WorkCover and other costs, and also offered careers counselling and advice.
The end result, she said, gave employers a hassle free approach to finding a new apprentice or trainee.
MEGT has offices in Ringwood, Melbourne and Dandenong.
The Dandenong office is located at Suite 2, 29 Princes Highway, Dandenong.
Employers or prospective apprentices can contact Lisa Veale on 0404 049 484.
