THE region’s finest young footballers took centre stage on Sunday as the Dandenong and District Junior Football League grand finals played out in front of hordes of enthusiastic supporters.
Noble Park and North Dandenong flew the flag for the City of Greater Dandenong against clubs from Casey and Cardinia at the venues in Doveton, Narre Warren and Hallam.
Both local sides were denied the spoils, with North Dandy going down to Officer by 10 points in the Under-13 Red division and Noble’s Under-15 Premier team succumbing to Endeavour Hills Green.
Bordertown Hampton Park had more success, with a 15-point win in the Under-11 Blue division.
The three venues were transformed into a sea of colour as supporters braved the wintry conditions to cheer on their family and friends.
