Team learns valuable lessons from soccer

DANDENONG students who participated in a soccer program to help them deal with personal problems have graduated.
The Team of Life was introduced at St John’s Regional College by one of the school psychologists Milan Colic.
The program uses soccer as a metaphor to dealing with life’s obstacles and is the brainchild of Adelaide’s David Denborough.
Mr Denborough visited St John’s Regional College last month for the graduation ceremony.
After he presented students with certificates, they stood on a podium and the Australian anthem was played.
“It was a touching moment for David, and for the staff at St John’s to see the boys singing the national anthem,” St John’s Regional College spokeswoman Jessica Brinsdon said.
“It was important for these boys to be recognised for their achievements in the Team of Life, as they are now more aware of their skills and knowledge in tackling problems in life with the support of their teams, rather than in isolation.”
