GOLFERS braved inclement weather last fortnight to help brighten the lives of seriously ill children.
The charity event, held by Noble Park RSL at the Pakenham Golf Club, raised much-needed funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Cardinia-Casey Make-A-Wish child Cody joined golfers at the lunch that followed the competition.
The four-year-old from Berwick recently enjoyed a holiday on the Gold Coast with his family courtesy of the branch.
Before his trip Cody, who has cystic fibrosis, saw his beloved Saints at training, playing bowls and watching them in the pool. This was televised on Channel 10’s AFL program Before the Game. His favourite players Robert Harvey and Xavier Clarke presented Cody’s travel documents.
Noble Park RSL has supported Make-A-Wish for 10 years and has raised about $130,000 for the charity during this time.
The RSL branch recently held a dance at their club where members presented a $10,300 cheque to Make-A-Wish Australia.
