DANDENONG South’s Viridian has opened a window for the future of glass making in Victoria.
On Tuesday a $130 million investment project in the CSR Viridian Dandenong glass-making plant was officially launched by State Treasurer John Lenders, the acting Industry and Trade Minister.
Mr Lenders said work had resumed at the upgraded facility after a five-month shutdown to rebuild the furnace and for technological improvements.
“This upgrade and reopening represents a major project milestone that involved six months’ work by a team of 300 engineers and contractors,” he said.
“It also locks in the local work force and speciality skills in the region.”
Mr Lenders said the investment was a great project for Victoria.
