Two injured in attack

A TOMAHAWK-style weapon was used in an assault that left two men with stab wounds and a third in shock after an apparent altercation in Dandenong last week.
Police are investigating the incident, which occurred in Gateway Boulevard at about 4am on 27 December when three men, all in their 20s, were set upon by three males.
Police believe there may have been a road-rage incident moments before the two men were stabbed and assaulted with a tomahawk-style weapon.
The three alleged attackers left the scene in a car, crashed the vehicle less than a kilometre away in James Street, Dandenong, and fled the scene on foot.
One of the stabbed men was taken to The Alfred hospital in a serious but stable condition, and the other was taken to Dandenong Hospital, also in a serious but stable condition. The third man was treated at the scene for shock. The police air wing and dog squad has assisted the investigation.
