New computers for community vibrancy

Telephones and computers at South East Community Links will receive a $15,261 upgrade.
Isaacs MP Mark Dreyfus recommended the Springvale project for funding under the Stronger Communities Grants Programme’s second round.
“South East Community Links has been using computers that are 10 years old and not up to scratch for community use,” he said.
“This grant will replace these computers with new ones and also upgrade the organisation’s outdated phone system, which has faced ongoing maintenance issues over the past few years.”
The programme provides grants between $5000 and $20,000 and is available for projects that improve community participation and contribute to a community’s vibrancy and viability.
South East Community Links (SECL) formed late last year when non-profits Springvale Community Aid and Advice Bureau (SCAAB), Dandenong Community Advisory Bureau (DCAB) and Southern Ethnic Advisory and Advocacy Council (SEAAC) joined forces.
SECL offers support for refugees and newly arrived migrants, employment services, a child support program, counselling services, emergency relief, financial counselling and more.
