TRADE and Industry Minister Martin Pakula called in to Dandenong manufacturer PZ Cussons Australia on Friday to congratulate it for being inducted into the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame.
Mr Pakula said PZ Cussons was inducted in recognition of its long track record of achievement and innovation as one of Australia’s leading cleaning products manufacturers.
“One of nine local companies whose excellence was recognised on Monday night at the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame gala dinner, PZ Cussons is a company synonymous with some of the nation’s most respected brands such as Radiant, Duo, Morning Fresh and Imperial Leather,” Mr Pakula said.
“Based in Melbourne, the company’s detergent and soap manufacturing processes are undertaken at their Dandenong plant.”
Mr Pakula said the company had experienced good growth over the past five years.
“Exports have grown by 25 per cent in the past five years and PZ Cussons Australia is truly a global competitor in the market,” he said.
The Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame was established by the Victorian Government in 2001 and showcases successful, local manufacturers with innovative and sophisticated solutions to manufacturing challenges.
The Labor MP for Dandenong, John Pandazopoulos, also congratulated PZ Cussons.
“Dandenong is the heartland of Victorian manufacturing and PZ Cussons is a fine example of how local firms can succeed in spite of challenging global conditions,” he said.
“I congratulate them on being inducted into the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame, and wish them well for the future.”
