Steady stream at Dandy show

By Bridget Cook
A STEADY stream of patrons flocked to the Greaves Reserve Showgrounds over the weekend for the 138th Dandenong Show.
There was plenty of entertainment to cater for the whole family with rides, exhibits, performers and showbags.
A large number of cattle and dairy goats put on a good show of prime agricultural livestock.
Showjumping returned to the main arena and proved very popular with both spectators and competitors.
Highlights of the show included the RAAF Hot Air Balloon, the Whip Industries mini bike stunt show and the roving antics of Windy Wizard, Quirky Camels and Herman and Devinia.
Entertainment from performers including The Lost Boys, Burmese Youth Band, Lil’ Flippah, Chakeun and McYezterday and Columbian Folk Dancers, as well as the Dandenong Rotary Club Battle of the Bands and the Chamber of Commerce School Talent Quest saw a steady crowd at the bandstand across the two days.
A number of awards were presented at the show including the Art and Craft Shinners Plumbing Champion School to Gleneagles Secondary School.
The CFA display won the Best Community Award, the Flyball won the Best Trade Space Award and the No Limit Extreme Ride, presented by Bells Amusements, won the Best Amusement Award.
