Police warning for schoolies

POLICE are warning students who are about to embark on schoolies adventures to be cautious and act responsibly.
Inspector Caroline West, the police service area manager for Greater Dandenong, encouraged students to have fun on their holidays but to do it in a responsible matter.
“They should look after each other and not leave friends alone in the company of strangers,” she warned.
“We encourage young men to behave properly, and ‘gentlemen’ like.
“(Students) know the difference between what’s right and what’s wrong, but when they are fuelled by alcohol, some decisions are not as clear cut,” she said.
Insp West encouraged parents to speak to their children about making responsible decisions.
“We want students to have fun,” Insp West said. “But we want them to do so in a respectable matter. Consequences of wrong decisions could affect them for the rest of their lives.”
