MORE police will be out in force to remove impaired drivers from Greater Dandenong’s roads.
From 20 November to 12 December, police members will be cracking down on local drivers as part of Operation RAID (Remove All Impaired Drivers).
Though Operation Raid is an Australian-wide operation, there will be a major focus in the Dandenong area, Springvale Sergeant Michael Ferdinand said.
“More task members, not just from the traffic unit, will be doing preliminary breath tests,” he said.
“We will have as many patrol cars out as we can. The aim is to have one in five drivers tested.”
